Here's a special Thanksgiving roundup of public media arts and culture (and cooking) stories from around the nation:

- In time for Thanksgiving, PBS shares this 1994 Cooking in Concert special with Jacques Pepin and Julia Child on stuffing a turkey:

- And if you need more help, NPR's Splendid Table will air a special program tomorrow with their holiday hotline Turkey Confidential, when you can call in for advice for last-minute cooking emergencies.

- At Need to Know, books writer Jessa Crispin test-drives a recipe for cheesy gougeres.

- KPBS's Culture Lust offers wine recommendations for Thanksgiving dinner. Near the top of list: Gewurztraminer from Alsace -- "extremely versatile" and "can really stand up well to the vast set of flavors brought to the table."

[After the jump, arts stories to enjoy while you're digesting]

- Tonight, Wednesday, Nov. 24, PBS airs the two-hour concert, "Sondheim! The Birthday Concert" on Great Performances (check local listings). The legendary Broadway composer and lyricist turned 80 this year. Here's a preview:
