Tuesday's Art Notes

The most nominated films were _The King's Speech_ with 12, _True Grit_ received 10, and _The Social Network_ and _Inception_ with eight each. Amongst all the big Hollywood contenders for best picture were two independent films: the low-budget Ozark Mountains thriller _A Winter's Bone_, and _The Kids Are Alright_, a family drama set in California, which both premiered last January at the Sundance Film Festival in 2010.
