Two films were big award winners at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas. "Natural Selection" by director Robert Pickering and "Dragonslayer" by director Tristan Patterson took home Jury Awarded Best Feature Narrative and Documentary, respectively. Nearly 300 films screened at the this year's festival, which provided an opportunity for directors of several types of films to reach an audience of film enthusiasts, critics and potential distributors. Many filmmakers used SXSW as an opportunity to not only premier their films, but to compete for recognition from their peers. Awards were also given to narrative, documentary and animated shorts, as well as for editing, performance and cinematography. (A list of the competitors and winners is after the jump.)
