New Joplin Mural Tells Story of the Storm

Last May, a devastating tornado roared through Joplin, MO., destroying nearly one third of the town and killing 162 people. Last night on the NewsHour, Jeffrey Brown "reported on":http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/weather/july-dec11/joplin_09-27.html what residents are doing to repair both the physical and emotional scars left by the twister. He also profiled one of the city's leading cultural institutions, the "Spiva Center for the Arts":http://www.spivaarts.org, which has mounted an exhibit of works created in response to the storm. Just a few blocks from the rubble of the tornado, a bright new mural has been painted, depicting life in Joplin both before and after the storm.
