2011 was a great year for music. Here's a look at the top studio sessions, performances and recordings assembled by four public broadcasting stations around the nation.

WNYC New York assembled its top 10 "Soundcheck" studio sessions from the past year, including Adele's performance of "Rolling in the Deep".

Together with music industry insiders and artists, KQED's Noise Pop Podcast team closes out 2011 with its favorite indie music tracks of the year.

WBEZ Chicago's "Eight Forty-Eight" showcases a wide variety of music produced by local artists. Show producer Jason Marck chose four performances that stood out for him.

In the Twin Cities, MPR's "The Current" had artists coming to the studio non-stop this year. Based on highest page traffic, "The Current" put together a list of favorite performances, with Atmosphere topping the list.
