As 2011 draws to a close, we take a look at the year in pop music and the big changes in the industry, including new cloud services like Spotify. I recently talked with Los Angeles Times critic Randall Roberts about those changes and the artists he enjoyed most.

Among his favorites: PJ Harvey, Tom Waits, Frank Ocean and Adele. Who were your favorites of 2011?

On Wednesday, I spoke to the Washington Post's Ron Charles about the year in fiction. On Friday, I talk to the New York Times' A.O. Scott about the year in film.
