It's billed as the U.S. premiere of a film made in 1927. The film is "Napoleon," made by the great director, Abel Gance. The U.S. premiere with full orchestra will be presented by the San Francisco Silent Film Festival in March. Kevin Brownlow is the Oscar-winning film historian, documentarian and archivist who's put it together, and he recently joined me in our newsroom to talk about his latest restoration of the film: Editor's note: Just to clear up any confusion, the showing in March by the San Francisco Silent Film Festival will be the U.S. premiere of the complete restoration by Kevin Brownlow and the U.S. premiere of the score by Carl Davis.
