The Flaming Lips perform Tuesday on the first day of the 2012 Noise Pop Festival at Bimbo's 365 Club in San Francisco. The festival is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Formed in 1983 in Oklahoma City, The Flaming Lips are famous for elaborately staged concerts, employing confetti, lasers, balloons and a giant plastic bubble inside of which lead singer Wayne Coyne tumbles around.
