There's a brand new entry into the world of books and publishing. It's call the Los Angeles Review of Books, and you'll find it online.

Among its many features, the site offers reviews and essays by well-known writers, video and audio of author interviews and events, reader forums and a searchable database of books, authors and their publishers.

To learn more about it, I talked to its founding publisher and editor-in-chief, Tom Lutz, on the phone on Wednesday:
