Jeffrey Brown Recaps the Grammy Awards With the New Yorker’s Sasha Frere-Jones

The 51st Grammy Awards were held last night in Los Angeles, and there were some clear winners: New Orleans rapper Lil Wayne took home best rap album and rap song, British rockers Coldplay won best rock album and song of the year.

The big winners of the night were the unlikely duo of Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin fame and Alison Krauss, who first made her name in the world of bluegrass music. Their duet album of American roots music, ‘Raising Sand,’ was named album of the year, and their track “Please Read the Letter” won record of the year.
