The Tuesday Cutline…a Winner!

Did you coo over last week’s Tuesday Cutline photo? A dog on Facebook looking at other…dogs? How adorable. It got us thinking about what dogs would say if they could actually speak. But more important, what would they Facebook? Before we get to our winner, here’s the original caption for the photo taken by Denis Charlet of AFP/Getty Images.

“A dog stands in front of a computer screen with a facebook page opened on it, on January 4, 2013 in Lille, Northern France.”

We received several great captions this round. Some insisted that the “like” button on Facebook would be replaced by a “bark” or “beg” button in a dog friendly digital world. Many quoted the famous New Yorker caption: “On the internet, nobody knows you’re a dog.”

But our favorite cutline suggested that dogs weren’t so different than their best friends (humans, of course) and that on Facebook, their annoyances would mirror ours. Congrats to Sheri Bentsen, who will be receiving a NewsHour mug for your winning caption:

ANOTHER picture of your puppies? Do you ever put that camera down???”

Thank you all for playing along. Join us next week for another Tuesday Cutline.
