The Tuesday Cutline…a Winner!

BY Tom LeGro and Colleen Shalby  October 16, 2012 at 11:28 AM EST

This week was tough choice, as we we had several great Tuesday Cutline captions submitted for the photo below. Before we get to the winner, here’s the original caption to the photograph taken by Michael Stewart of WireImage:

“Actors Reeve Carney and Robert Cuccioli with costumed Spider-Men visit ‘Spiders Alive!’ at the American Museum of Natural History in New York.”

Like we said, this was a hard decision. There were references to the web (as in the Internet), to science, to Spider-Man comic books and even to the first presidential debate. But only one referenced “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark,” the much-mocked, most expensively produced Broadway show in history. And that one happens to be our winner. Congrats, Josh Closs! There’s a NewsHour mug heading your way for this caption:

If all goes according to plan, this will help your ticket sales for “Turn Off the Dark.”

Thanks for playing along. We’ll have a new contest next week.

About the Tuesday Cutline: Every other Tuesday, we post a photo. You compose a witty/funny/creative caption, submit it by Friday at 5 p.m. ET in the comments section or on the NewsHour’s or Art Beat’s Facebook pages. The following Tuesday we pick one winner. Everyone celebrates.
