Tennessee Waltz

SUMMARY

We remember a man and his very famous song, country music star Frank "Peewee" King died yesterday at age 86. He was best known for co-writing "Tennessee Waltz," which became a number one hit in 1950, when Patti Page recorded it. Here's Patti Page 48 years later, 1998, singing "Tennessee Waltz" on a PBS broadcast.

PATTI PAGE (singing):

I was dancing with my darlin'

to the Tennessee Waltz when an old friend I happened to see

introduced here to my loved one

and while they were dancing my friend stole my sweetheart from me

I remember the night and the Tennessee Waltz

Now I know just how much I have lost.

Yes, I lost my little darling the night they were playing

the beautiful Tennessee Waltz.

Yes, I lost my little darling the night they were playing

the beautiful Tennessee Waltz
