ColoradoElectricity RatesResidential = 7 cents/kwh (National ranking: 29) Commerical = 6 cents/kwh Industrial = 4 cents/kwh(National ranking: 28) kwh = kilowatt hour1st ranking = highest rate in catagory DeregulationColorado’s legislature has considered and rejected electricity deregulation. During its 2000 legislative session, the Colorado state house did not consider any legislation to open the utilities to competition. Lawmakers and regulators say they continue to monitor the situation in other states to see if deregulation offers lower rates and better service.
