IllinoisElectricity RatesResidential = 10 cents/kwh (National ranking: 12) Commerical = 8 cents/kwh Industrial = 5 cents/kwh(National ranking: 12) kwh = kilowatt hour1st ranking = highest rate in catagory DeregulationIllinois moved to deregulate its energy industry in 1997. In mid-1999, the state amended its deregulation law to smooth the transition to full deregulation by May 2002.
