Deregulation

Indiana has not taken any steps to deregulate its utilities at this time. During its 2000 session, that state legislature considered a bill to restructure the power system, but did not adopt it. Experts expect the legislature to consider it again this year, but, given concern over California’s power problems, they do not think it will pass.
