Residential = 8 cents/kwh (National ranking: 20)

Commerical = 7 cents/kwh
(National ranking: 27)

Industrial = 4 cents/kwh(National ranking: 35)

1st ranking = highest rate in catagory

Deregulation

Iowa currently has not deregulated its electricity industry. The governor has moved to establish a commission to study Iowa’s energy consumption, supplies and efficiency and that panel may consider some form of competition. The state’s legislature does not plan to take up a major deregulation bill this year.
