Deregulation

Kansas has not deregulated its electric industry. Although a legislative task force had sought to create a consensus deregulation proposal, they ended their work in early 1999 without producing a proposal. Despite this lack of a consensus bill, several deregulation-related proposals have already been introduced in the state legislature for consideration this year.
