KentuckyElectricity RatesResidential = 6 cents/kwh (National ranking: 47) Commerical = 5 cents/kwh Industrial = 3 cents/kwh(National ranking: 48) kwh = kilowatt hour1st ranking = highest rate in catagory DeregulationKentucky continues to have a traditionally regulated energy system – customers do not have a choice of electricity suppliers and the government closely regulates generation and transmission. In 1999, a legislative task force recommended no major deregulation during the 2000 session. The task force is conducting another investigation into deregulation of the electric industry.
