Residential = 7 cents/kwh (National ranking: 30)

Commerical = 7 cents/kwh
(National ranking: 20)

Industrial = 4 cents/kwh(National ranking: 25)

kwh = kilowatt hour
1st ranking = highest rate in catagory

Deregulation

Louisiana has chosen not to deregulate it energy industry at this time. In January of this year, state regulators said residential and small business competition was not in the public interest. The regulators did say that competition could be allowed for industrial users since they would be knowledgeable enough consumers to benefit from deregulation.
