MaineElectricity RatesResidential = 13 cents/kwh (National ranking: 4) Commerical = 10 cents/kwh Industrial = 6 cents/kwh(National ranking: 10) kwh = kilowatt hour1st ranking = highest rate in catagory DeregulationMaine passed a deregulation measure in 1997 and amended it in 1999. The new law allowed the state to begin retail competition on March 1, 2000 and established a variety of regulations.
