New JerseyElectricity RatesResidential = 12 cents/kwh (National ranking: 7) Commerical = 10 cents/kwh Industrial = 8 cents/kwh(National ranking: 5) kwh = kilowatt hour1st ranking = highest rate in catagory DeregulationNew Jersey deregulated its electricity market in August 1999. The competition legislation allows customers to choose their electric generation supplier and cuts rates 10 to 14 percent through August 2003.
