New MexicoElectricity RatesResidential = 9 cents/kwh (National ranking: 15) Commerical = 8 cents/kwh Industrial = 4 cents/kwh(National ranking: 23) kwh = kilowatt hour1st ranking = highest rate in catagory DeregulationLegislation signed in 1999 intended to phase in deregulation during 2002 in New Mexico. But new legislation passed in March 2001 delays choice of power supplier until 2007 for residential customers, and until 2008 for nonresidential customers.
