Deregulation

North Dakota's power industry is not deregulated -- generation, transmission and distribution of a customer's electricity are provided from one company. A legislative committee created in 1997 to study restructuring is expected to make a recommendation during the state's 2001 legislative session. The committee will continue work through 2003.
