VirginiaElectricity RatesResidential = 8 cents/kwh (National ranking: 25) Commerical = 6 cents/kwh Industrial = 4 cents/kwh(National ranking: 34) kwh = kilowatt hour1st ranking = highest rate in catagory DeregulationVirginia is currently working out the details for implementing its deregulation plans. A 1999 restructuring law calls for phasing in consumer choice of power provider during 2002 and 2003. By January 1, 2004 all Virginia consumers will be able to choose their electricity provider.
