— The wall in the Israeli neighborhood Gilo, just south of Jerusalem, that shields the area from the gunfire often coming from Beit Jala, a Palestinian village across a narrow valley. Villagers on both sides claim the other side sparked the violence. Just days after this picture was taken, gunfire erupted anew from Beit Jala.
