A young boy plays in front of his apartment building, home to Fatah General Secretary Marwan Barghouti, while Israeli troops patrol the immediate area, their armored personnel carriers (APCs) idling nearby.

Following a suicide attack in the Northern Israeli town of Hadera the previous night, Israeli forces fanned out through Ramallah, raiding the homes of several Palestinian officials and tightening the circle around Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat's headquarters.
