Former Arizona Rep. Gabby Giffords recited the Pledge of Allegiance the last night of the Democratic National Convention. As she walked on stage, with only minimal support from a friend, delegates gave her a standing ovation. Giffords resigned from office after recovering from injuries she incurred from a 2011 shooting.
