Folk Legend Mary Travers Dies at 72

A look back at the life of Mary Travers, of the legendary folk trio Peter, Paul, and Mary, who died Wednesday at age 72.

JUDY WOODRUFF: Finally tonight, remembering singer Mary Travers of the folk music trio Peter, Paul and Mary. They were vocal political activists as well as performers. Here they are performing "If I Had a Hammer" at the 1963 Newport Folk Festival.

MARY TRAVERS: The family of folk continues; it's just a matter of passing it on. Or, as Peter once said, you know, we're all on the same train together. Some passengers get on; some passengers get off.

JUDY WOODRUFF: Mary Travers died yesterday after a long battle with leukemia. She was 72 years old.
