By the People has supported local alliance organizations, public television stations, and community colleges in their efforts to spark civic dialogue across the country. Use this map to locate all of BTP's current and previous partners and find partner-sponsored events in 2004-2005.

The centerpiece of By the People's efforts in 2005 was Deliberation Week, which ran from October 22-29. PBS stations and their community group partners, community colleges, and others hosted dialogues on healthcare and education.

PBS broadcast a special one-hour program, anchored by The NewsHour's Ray Suarez, highlighting citizen discussions on healthcare and education taking place during Deliberation Week, October 22-29, 2005.

PBS stations sponsored more than 20 local television broadcasts, four radio programs, and more than 130 events in 2004. KERA (Dallas, TX) featured NewsHour anchor Jim Lehrer discussing "A World of News."
