The Business Desk with Paul Solman
In the fall of 2007, when the U.S. economy first seemed in peril, I began answering reader queries here on the Business Desk. I still do so, but this page has expanded to include posts from eminent economists, "far-flung correspondents," and a variety of voices that have intriguing and/or useful things to say about economics, broadly defined. Please feel encouraged to respond to any and all of them.

A 'Lord's Prayer' for Spain's Economic Troubles

Today, in the last of our pain-in-Spain posts, a viral version of the Lord's Prayer, as tweeted by Paul Solman over the weekend.

Our European Bank, which art in Germany, hallowed be Thy Name;

Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, in Spain as it is in Germany.

Give us this day our daily bailout,

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our tax defrauders.

For Thine is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory forever and ever.

Amen.
