| In Washington, D.C. the hearings about the campaign finance scandal in
the 1996 election cycle is playing itself out in near obscurity. The
mainstream press is paying little attention and seems to have a ho-hum
attitude, which is being mirrored by the general public.
I believe there are three major reasons why every American should be interested and outraged. First, there is clear and convincing evidence that the Communist Chinese Government tried to and succeeded in laundering their money into the American Presidential race in 1996 through President Clinton's campaign and the Democratic National Committee. To a lesser degree the Chinese tried to affect American congressional races.
Third, the hearings are bipartisan, but the scandal is not. Bill Clinton and the Democrats took Chinese money and knew it or chose to ignore it. The Democrats, Bill Clinton and his political appointees, John Huang at the Commerce Department, flouted and most certainly broke numerous campaign finance laws. Several key witnesses have fled America to avoid testifying. Where did they go? China. It is chilling that an American President and the Democrat National Committee would sellout the American people to gain and retain power while the national news media continues to yawn. |
