This Republican National Convention has successfully quashed publishedpredictions of a split party, a lack of enthusiasm, and a disinterestedaudience. I am so pleased to report that the past three days have beenan enthusiastic beginning for the rest of the campaign. The party isunified and set on winning in November.

Bob Dole set the tone for a successful convention when he announced aneconomic package that offers a 15 percent across-the-board tax cut, growth and a balance budget. Second, Bob Dole chose Jack Kemp as hisrunning mate. Bob Dole said he was looking for a '10' in a VicePresident and Republicans unanimously agree, he got a '15.'

The Colorado delegation, along with everyone on the floor, has beencaptivated and inspired by the entire event. From Colin Powell to NancyReagan to George Bush, conventioneers have been wowed by a fantasticprogram and a convention hall bubbling with excitement. The highlightfor me has been Elizabeth Dole. Last night she stole the country'sheart.

I am looking forward to hearing Bob Dole tonight. And even moreexciting for Coloradoans, Denver is the first stop after the convention.

This week has been more than we, as Republicans, could hope. I, alongwith all the conventioneers, am ready to return home and work hard toelect the next President of the United States, Bob Dole.
