Susan and Dick Swift
Palestine, TX Susan and Dick Swift are both long-time activists in the Democratic Party. Susan has been a consultant for the Democratic Party for the last 15 years who supports pro-choice and clean water legislation. Dick, an attorney, has also been active in the state Democratic party for a decade and a half. He is also is active in the National Rifle Association and a hunter and fisherman.

Billie Carr is a woman who once was a "the biggest trouble maker" to someone who is seen by fellow party members as "down right respectable." Carr has been the state Democratic committee since 1972.
