Delegate Reactions
Seven of the delegates who reported home during the Republican and Democratic national conventions return to tell how the election looks from their perspective.
Art Noonan, a Democrat from Butte, MT, talks about what it's like to hear national election results before the polls close, the Senate seat that went to the Democratic incumbent Max Baucus, and the close House race. Noonan also pays tribute to Chet Blaylock, the Democratic challenger for the governorship of Montana who died suddenly two weeks ago.
Hans Von Spakvosky, a Republican from Atlanta, GA, was at the polling booths, and reports that turnout was heavy. He says the public approves of the Republican agenda of the past two years, as shown by the fact that Republicans are winning many of the congressional races around the nation.
Enid Goubeaux, from Greenville, OH, gives us a glimpse of what it's like to be a Democrat in a heavily Republican district.
Mary Ellen Early, a Democrat from Sherman Oaks, CA, reports on a clash between the new immigrants who are voting in their first election, and a conservative group that tried its hand at voter intimidation.
David Ferdinand, a Republican from Nampa, ID, talks about a nuclear waste initiative, a
one percent property tax cap, term limits and bear
hunting initiatives, which brought out the voters despite early election predictions.
John Korsmo, a Republican from Bismark, ND, writing on the re-election efforts of his boss, Governor Edward Schafer of North Dakota, as well as other state-wide races.
Veronica Biggins, a Democrat from Atlanta, GA, will be reporting on the hotly contested Georgia Senate race as well as discussing the race to oust Speaker Gingrich.
