Delegate Reactions:
Enid Goubeaux

This is a very Republican district with about a two to one difference. However, we were disappointed that only one of our opposed candidates, a County Commissioner incumbent, won. We were especially Ms. Goubeauxdisappointed that a veteran Recorder was defeated by a total newcomer and novice. This does not bode well for the County Recorder Office. One bright spot locally was the defeat of an upstart demogogue who attempted to become juvenile/probate judge. Even though he was a Republican, the leaders of the bar and of both parties joined ranks to stop him.

The voter turnout was heavy, but I don't have any figures comparing things to 4 years ago. In my district, Dole beat Clinton by 1700 votes -- But Clinton did a great deal better than 4 years ago. There is much enthusiasm for him here.

Of course we are very happy that Clinton-Gore won and won big in Ohio.
