Reaction to the attack

Sajida, New Miford, CT

Today it feels like we're not safe in America. The things we did before we didn't have to worry about. Now, everything we do we have watch out for ourselves. It feels like someone is watching us like an eagle and we can't do anything we want right now.

They're tapping the phones; e-mails are being watched by other people. That is not right -- these are our private rights. After the attack, there were some Arabic-looking men in a plane with Americans. They were kicked off because of the way they looked. What is this???

I thought everyone had rights in this country. What happened now? Why is everything different now? Why do we hate each other so much right now? Maybe one Muslim did it but why do all Muslims have to struggle with that? Not all Muslims are bad. Terrorism doesn't have a religion so you can't really say the phrase "Islamic Terrorist."

I don't understand why all Americans are against Muslims. What did we do that was so wrong that every American has bad things to say about us now? Wherever we go, there are people talking bad about Muslims. How would you feel if some someone was talking bad about your country?

We have feelings. We're humans too. Every Muslim felt bad about that day just like Americans who were shocked. Every Muslim who is in this country did care about that attack. They did donate money, clothes, food, everything they could.

All the Americans probably think we Muslims don't care. Of course we care because we're part of this country. Why can't we all come back together like we were before?

I am Muslim. I came to this country for education and a better life -- that's the only reason foreigners comes here. I am proud to be an American because I have freedom of speech and rights that I didn't have in my own country.

This is my home, and I am proud to be here. I will never forget what this country gave to me. Today, I am disappointed at how American people are reacting to Muslims. They're being so racist and prejudiced that they really hurt all the Muslims.

Everyone knows that only a few Muslims attacked the World Trade Center and now everyone is against all the Muslims. That's not right because not every Muslim did it. People should understand that and also that they can't say something about Muslims that they don't know.

Muslim means peace. If a man kills innocent people, to God it looks like he is killing all innocent people. And people who are terrorists don't have a religion.

Islam is a religion of peace, not violence and terrorism. As a nation, we all should be together. We should help each other this time. One nation under God.

This is my home and my country and I want my country to come back together. To think that the acts the people who did this did reflects all Muslims --I don't get that. Whoever did this, I don't consider them to be Muslim. What they've done is against the religion. Islam is a religion of peace. We don't believe in murder or suicide. God made you, and it is not your choice to take it away.
