Reaction to the attack
Elke We just want to say that we think it's very terrible for everyone but especially for you. People who do these things must be very sick in their head. When I saw it on the television, I cried and nearly vomitted. Hopefully, there wont be a war and that Bush makes the right desicion. We are very afraid!!! Hopefully this will end good and soon. Julie
and Josefine We were shocked when we heard this terrible news... we'd like to help but we're only highschool kids, so we send you this message to say how much we care about what happened in the U.S. We hope Bush won't use any more violence by punishing the terrorists, who ever it might be. We hope that the victims won't lose their hope, and remain that there are still beautiful things in this world. Love to you all. The events that took place yesterday will live with me for the rest of my life. I still haven't completely come to realize what the whole thing means. The entire day was as if it came out of a Tom Clancy novel, and I can't believe that I and everyone close to me lived through it. I haven't even started to comprehend the millions of people that were not so lucky, who were injured, killed, or had family and friends who were. America was attacked by terrorists, and in the process thousands of innocent people, people who did nothing more than come to this country and call themselves Americans, were murdered, heartlessly and without warning. There are so many reactions America can take in response to this, from going to war and wiping the Middle East off the face of the Earth, to something as simple as rebuilding the Twin Towers again, to something like forming a friendship bond between Afghanistan and the other countires in the Middle East and the U.S. One thing that I am extremely grateful for at a time like this is the strength of our democracy. That is something we can depend on. We have a great system in the United States that has worked before in great times of tragedy, and there is no doubt in my mind that it will work just as well now. We, as Americans, must now come together, with total faith in our government and sympathy and compassion for those who are suffering, and join together to do as our country's leaders see as a fit course of action for America. Horrific events took place, thousands have died, and now it is our time to show the world that you do not attack the United States of America and expect to escape with impunity. We must join together and stand tall. We are the United States of America and nothing will bring us down. Return
