Reaction to the attack

I live in Australia, and many Americans may not think Australians are affected by this crisis, and I say MAY not I'm not saying they do not, but I am very deeply hurt by this tragedy. When I found out about the attack, I took the day off school and I cried practically all day. My mum took the day off work and stayed with me it is so upsetting. Words can not express my sadness and sorrow, and my heart goes out to everyone in America, and everyone affected by this tragedy.

What happened isn't that simple even though they did that, America is not about two buildings and financial center and not the bodies. It is an idea of strength, love and souls. I am proud to be an American where I know I can be free. And no one can take that away. I know that Bush did and will always make the right choice. But we shouldn't attack a country until we know for sure who did that. God bless America.

You will hear feel-good messages from teachers and some parents about peace, no guns and we must help everybody. The reality is that we must always be vigilant and strong. Even a bully fears someone stronger, but will take a cheap shot at the unwary and especially when their defenses are down. The price of freedom is never cheap, and is always and forever on the installment plan. God bless America.

I was so shocked as I heard about the attacks on the World Trade Centre. Why have the terrorist do that? Are they crazy? I wouldn´t understand that. I hope that the Americans doesn´t do an attack too. If they do that the Third World War would be come.

Poem: "Twin Towers"

We could see them from Weehawken
from Brooklyn
when we flew over them
from Montclair
from Newark
from the Empire State Building

When we visited them
we could hardly walk around them
it winded us
to make the trek

At night - they glistened
and we could see them
more vividly
from afar

We saw them in our sleep
after seeing them again

Then,
we saw them last
from the tunnel
just before
we paid the toll

We are lucky to live in the United States. Our school is going to have a freedom week. We are making flags and learning about our wonderful freedoms. We will be wearing red, white and blue all week. We are collecting money for the fire fighters too.
