What issues are important to us?

Becky Ringwelski
More protection for wildlife and its habitats. Animals are being killed illegally, and their homes are being destroyed. The parks where animals live should be made bigger.

Jason Campbell
We need to choose a president who is honest, hardworking, nice and truthful. I don't want a president who is chosen for his looks. The best president will be chosen for his personality and his working skills.

Tiffany Bradley
Social Security and health care. How are we supposed to have happy lives when we don't feel safe or have enough money to stay healthy?

J Currier
The president must treat everyone equally no matter what color your skin is, what town you live in-- whether you live in a cardboard box or a big white house.

Davey Kusek
More money for health care for the elderly. Also more money should go to the study of very dangerous illnesses like AIDS, cancer and diabetes.

Nick Mangiraracina
The roads in the U.S. If the candidates addressed this problem there will be fewer accidents.

Andrew Orwig
I think politicians should increase the military's budget. The enlisted men and women are fighting for our country and putting their live on the line, but we don't pay them what they're worth. My grandmother works at Northrop Grumman and she considers this a major issue.

Emily Salzman
School violence is the most important issue. It has gotten way out of hand. Only people who work for the police or the military should have guns. Not people who just want them for protection. Kids can get these guns and shoot themselves or others.

Jessica Goodwin
Stricter rules on smoking and drugs. Tobacco should be illegal. If not completely illegal, it should be illegal to have in households with children under the age of 18.

Shannon Connolly
Honesty, honor and integrity in our elected officials. Without this it's very hard to focus on necessary issues. How can we solve any of our problems when certain adults can't even tell the truth? Once these traits are valued we can move onto other issues such as foreign affairs. We have many more treaties than we used to and we need to be careful, or we will end up in a war, and our army isn't as strong as it used to be.

Michael Irwin
Schools need to be drug free. They should have classes about drugs and what they can do to you. To make it safe, you could have dogs and police check the lockers every week. You could also have metal detectors at the doors.

Jimmy Gruhin
We should not sell weapons to other countries except for our allies, even then we need to be extra careful, since they might turn on us.

Josh Weigel
It is very important the the president set a good example for kids. Because some look up to him and they think if the president can do it, so can I.

Nate Morris
Schools today should get new computers and better technology. The nation's money should go to field trips rather than nuclear bombs.

Megan L
The prevention of violence in schools. If it can happen to Columbine, it could happen here. Why has so little been done to prevent it from happening again? With the up-coming elections, candidates should take a stand to stop violence. I plan to out-live my parents.

Thomas Jarvis
Pollution reduction in our factories and every day lives. With better pollution control, property values will rise providing more money to the communities and make our cities cleaner and more beautiful.
