Staring Fear in The Face

Staring fear in the face isn't easy
You may have to stomp on other emotions like panic and hysteria.
And suppose you can't find fear's face
Do you look for it under your dinner plate or in the attic?

Looking for fear might be a new experience.
I've looked for joy and enlightenment,
but never for fear.
And when I found fear would I fondle it or force it to submit?
Would the face of fear be fearful or formidable or perhaps just fanciful.
I often wonder about things like fear.
Does fear have a personality, or is it just a substance that appears under special scary circumstances, prancing around and showing off?
And when I stare fear in the face, who
would win? Would fear be forceful enough to triumph or would I be resourceful enough to just stare her down?
It's happened quite a few times.
But I haven't kept score.
