A
bit about Slovakia...
If
you looked at a 1990 map, you wouldn’t find Slovakia,
you’d see Czechoslovakia.
Once
a part of the Hapsburg and Austro-Hungarian empires, Slovakia
decided to go it alone in 1993. The break up was known
as the "Velvet Divorce" named after the peaceful fall
of Communism in Czechoslovakia, the "Velvet Revolution".
Slovakia
is at the very center of Europe. It has tall mountains,
medieval castles and deep peasant traditions.
