Opportunity for Students to Podcast their Reactions to the Inauguration

Inauguration
Are your students excited for Obama's inauguration? Do they want to share their energy? Do they want to have their voices heard? Join students from around the country who are podcasting their inauguration thoughts and experiences on NewsHour Extra.

Come back to this page on January 20 to listen to the results!

Listen to a short introduction to the project:

All you and your students need to participate is a phone! Just ask your students to call our 1-800 GabCast number on Jan 20th and record their thoughts and reflections in less than two minutes. GabCast is an easy system that turns your voicemail into a podcast. We will be collecting and publishing them all day, so do not wait to call.

We are looking for students who will be in D.C. or students who are watching from home.

If you and your students are interested please call Lizzy Berryman, Director of the Teacher Center, at 703.998.2182 to get all of the details or e-mail us at extra@newshour.org.

Participating schools include Worcester Academy in Worcester, Mass. A team of students are traveling to the inauguration and documenting it online and on Extra with GabCast!
