St. Louis divisions

St Louis - it’s really divided in where people live. Mainly what the segregation is is that people, they hear certain things about maybe a certain area of the city or they spread certain types of rumors.

I think the main problem lies within ourselves and that we keep pushing this problem. We’re not really helping it.

Feeling the recession

My mother works at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and she’s told me of people that have been laid off and fired because of  the economic crisis.

I’ve been hearing about a lot of people losing their jobs, losing their homes, homes getting foreclosed.

On President Obama's election and first 100 days

I think it was fantastic that Obama was elected because it shows that this country is willing to move forward and make a lot of progress.

In my school, I can remember back during the election process everybody was just so excited. Banners were hanging all over the school - flyers, papers. Everybody was ready for a change.

I think so far he’s doing a great job. Everybody’s not going to agree with the decisions that he makes. I think that right now within his first 100 days, he’s doing very well.
