Video Your Vote: Students Interview Voters, Teachers About Election Experiences

Sen. McCain and Sen. Obama
Video Your Vote is a joint project between the NewsHour and YouTube to document the experiences of voters across the country and collect voter opinions on the 2008 election.
 
 
 

Margie, from Cesar Chavez Academy High School in south-west Detroit, interviews history teacher John Boutros about his experience with voting. Boutros discusses why he votes and the historical significance of voting.





Students from Sutherland Middle School, in Charlottesville, Virginia, talked to a voter about the significance of having a black presidential candidate and a female vice-presidential candidate.






Students in Williamston, North Carolina, interviewed Barbara, a waitress at a local restaurant about why she votes and potential problems getting to the polls.




Peekskill High School students, in Peekskill, Pennsylvania, interviewed Pete Peterson about why voting is important to him as an African-American.





In a video from Cheverus High School in Portland, Maine, a voter talks about why he voted absentee and gives his opinion on the campaigns.
