Selective use of excellent video has always been a good way to engage students, many of whom live and breathe in a hyper-visual universe.

These days, “Web 2.0” technological advances are dramatically increasing video’s potential in education. The Video Clip section of our blog will explore the flavors of these possibilities with examples from the wide variety of free online video.

Today’s video clip is from Common Craft — Lee and Sachi LeFever. It’s a three minute introduction to Blogging in plain English.

By exploring the Common Craft Show, you’ll find other examples of their videos, ranging from the whimsical to quick, clear introductions to technology and internet concepts.

As a great way of engaging students, some fortunate schools already have the equipment for students to create their own video projects. Please be on the lookout for good examples of student video related to current events or issues. or links to any video example you find useful or interesting that we might show on this feature.

In Peace,

Brian
