The ‘Choicework’ discussion guide from Public Agenda can help structure and facilitate class participation. Several different points of view are clearly presented with pros and cons. Students are encouraged to discuss, mix and match different perspectives, add their own points, but ultimately choose only one position to support, while honestly acknowledging its drawbacks. As Public Agenda says, “each choice offers a distinctive diagnosis of the issue, and each leads to a distinctive prescription.”
