CURRENT NATIONAL OR GLOBAL "PROBLEM & SOLUTION"
Select a news article or feature that describes a global political,
social, economic or other problem. Read it carefully. Then compete the
following activities and questions.
USE YOUR OWN PAPER.
STEP 1: What is the problem?
a. Summarize the problem using facts from the article.
b. Explain why this situation is a problem.
c. Describe what might happen if the problem is not corrected. Support
this prediction with facts from the news article.
STEP 2: What are the opposing sides in the controversy?

STEP 3: What is the best solution?
a. Identify the possible solutions discussed in this article.
