Thank you, Jeffery Brown
for introducing us to those wonderful Palestinian
poets. I have learned recently that poetry is almost
as essential as air in Arab and Persian people's lives.
Yet we are exposed to so little of it. I find it accessible
and rich in felt meaning. I would have liked it if
you could have given more voice to how the Palestinians
lost homes and farms beginning in 1948 and how the
wall cuts into their territory even more....

Thank you for the lovely
program on Israeli poets. Just a little comment, if
I may. The way you portray Israeli poetry is a perfect
reflection of the Euro-centric cultural vision and
design of Israel... Moreover, you reproduce the superficial
and false dichotomy of Israel into "Jews"
and "Arabs". It is much more complicated
then that. Half of the Jewish population, for instance,
is Middle Eastern and Arab by cultural origins. That
includes many poets.
