About the Authors
William E Connelly, Jr., is Associate Professor of Politics at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. He has a Ph.D. in American government from the University of Virginia and an M.A. in political science from Boston College. He has worked as an American Political Science Association Congressional Fellow for former Congressman Dick Cheney and Senator Richard G. Lugar.
John J. Pitney, Jr., is Assistant Professor of Government at Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, California. He has a Ph.D. in political science from Yale. He has worked as an American Political Science Association Congressional Fellow for Senator Alfonse D'Amato and former Congressman Dick Cheney. He has also worked on the staffs of the House Republican Research Committee and the Republican National Committee.
